HP40 Triple Crown Photos

Lucky for all, the warm, rainy weather moved out of town just in time for climbers from across the country to move in for the 2nd installment of this year's Triple Crown Bouldering Series at Horsepens 40, Alabama. This years competition enticed even a few big names (sharma, rands, kehl) down to the deep south for a taste of the sandstone friction of Horse Pens. Since I knew I stood no chance of placing in the competition, I took on the role of "judge" for the day so I could try and snap a few pictures of the competitors. And I even managed to take a few before I decided that I really would rather climb than chase people around all day and jockey for position for the good shot. (The best of those are linked to below.) In the end it was the local southerner James Litz at the top of the men's open division and Lisa Rands at the top of the women. The rest of the stats should be posted on the SCC (Southeastern Climber's Coalition) website later in the week.
